Seasalt , CEO
Paul Hayes joined Seasalt in September 2013, becoming CEO in 2016. Prior to joining Seasalt, he held senior positions with brands such as Timberland, Berghaus and Aigle, operating both in the UK and overseas. Paul has worked in the fashion, outdoor and lifestyle sectors for more than 25 years, building an extensive knowledge and expertise in multi-channel retail.
During his time at Seasalt, Hayes has seen the business grow consistently, with an increase in turnover from just over £21m to £65m. In that time Seasalt has also invested heavily in its technology, people and store portfolio, with a rapid expansion from 11 shops in 2013 to more than 60 in 2019 and from 233 employees to over 1000.
Hayes explains, “innovation and investment are a constant focus for us – in product, technology, customer experience and service, marketing and people in order to bring our quality products to market. We don’t take loyalty for granted and as we grow, we continue to keep the tenets of good shop-keeping at the heart of everything we do, through all of our customer channels – it’s about staying ahead in the delivery of the best customer service, offering the best possible product through our seasonal launches and reinforcing a strong sense of brand identity through engaging storytelling.”
